Taxonomic Notes
Taxons follow Olsen & Larsson (2003) except that:
atlantis in the Canaries, Madeira and Atlantic Morocco are termed southern atlantis
atlantis in Portugal and southern Atlantic Spain are termed lusitanicus (Iberian atlantis)
atlantis in northern Atlantic Spain are termed cantabricans.
The subdivisions of atlantis are necessary for an appreciation of its variability.
atlantis/michahellis indicates a population with appearance between atlantis and michahellis
michahellis is reserved only for populations in or originating recently from the Mediterranean
